Muscle Activation Techniques

MAT is a revolutionary bio-mechanical muscle therapy that finds and corrects muscle imbalances contributing to chronic pain and injury, improves joint and muscle mobility, reduces the risk of injury, and helps muscles contract more efficiently, making sure that the athlete is always in peak condition.

What is Muscle Activation Techniques?

Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) is a non-invasive, systematic approach to finding and correcting muscular imbalances within the body. Whether from injury, aging, or sport, the amount of stress being put on our body accumulates over time. When the system is over-stressed, the muscles cannot tolerate it and can become inhibited, or lose their ability to contract efficiently and on demand. When the body loses the ability to recruit all muscles in the correct way, it is forced to compensate for it elsewhere to continue functioning. This leads to dysfunction and compensation patterns in the body which can lead to overuse of other muscles that are making up for that loss. It can also lead to instability and irregular torque in the joints. Since muscles are what protect and stabilize our joints, any loss of function in any of those surrounding muscles can be detrimental to its function.

MAT is effective in treating existing pain and tightness within the body as it seeks to find the root problem that is causing discomfort. It also aides in preventing future injuries by ensuring that joints are stable and can move through their full range of motion. MAT increases the overall function of the muscular system as it raises the threshold for how much stress it can withstand. This increase creates a strong foundation for the body to optimally perform while training.
